Desk Sticky Notes Privacy Policy

Desk Sticky Notes, also referred to as Desk Notes, is a personal macOS app from an independent solo developer. This policy explains what the app stores, what it does not collect, and how support contact, purchases, the website, and future updates are handled.
Overview
Desk Sticky Notes is designed to keep your notes on your device. The app does not require an account, does not provide cloud sync, and does not send your notes to a Desk Sticky Notes server.
The app does not collect app analytics, does not show ads, does not track you, and does not sell or share your app data. Your note content remains local to your device unless you choose to copy, export, share, back up, or move it using macOS or other tools.
Data Stored Locally
Desk Sticky Notes stores note data locally on your device. Local note data can include note title and body text, note window size and position, collapsed state, category, selected style, palette, timestamps, and redaction data.
This local storage is used so the app can restore your notes and their layout when you open Desk Sticky Notes again. The app does not maintain a copy of this note data on a Desk Sticky Notes server.
Data Not Collected by the App
The Desk Sticky Notes app does not collect or transmit:
- Your note text or redacted text.
- Your categories, styles, palettes, note positions, or note layout.
- Your name, email address, or contact information through the app.
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioral analytics.
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data.
- Location data.
- Device identifiers for analytics or tracking.
Network Communication
Desk Sticky Notes does not use a Desk Sticky Notes server to store or process your notes. The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
If you click a link inside a note, or choose a support, privacy, or email link from the app or the website, macOS or your browser may open the relevant webpage or email client. Those user-initiated actions are separate from local note storage.
Redaction
Redaction in Desk Sticky Notes is a visual masking feature. It is meant to hide text from quick glances on the note surface. It is not encryption, access control, password protection, or a secure privacy boundary.
Redacted text is still part of your local note data. Someone with access to your device, your local app data, or your backups may be able to reveal or read the underlying text. Do not rely on redaction to protect passwords, financial information, regulated data, or other sensitive secrets.
Backups and Data Loss
Desk Sticky Notes is not a backup service. Because notes are stored locally, I cannot recover notes that are deleted in the app, removed from your device, lost because of device failure, or otherwise unavailable from your local storage.
Please keep separate backups of important information. If you use a backup tool, migration tool, disk clone, or third-party backup service, that tool may separately copy local Desk Sticky Notes app data according to its own behavior and settings.
Purchases
Desk Sticky Notes is sold as a one-time paid app on the App Store. App Store purchase and payment processing are handled by Apple. Desk Sticky Notes does not receive your payment card details.
App Store purchase, download, billing, and refund handling are subject to Apple's App Store terms and policies.
Website
The Desk Sticky Notes website is hosted through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard web request data, such as IP address, browser information, request URLs, and security logs, to provide hosting, performance, and security services for the website.
The website may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand basic website traffic and performance. Website hosting and website analytics data are separate from your local Desk Sticky Notes app data and do not give me access to the notes stored on your device.
The website does not use advertising trackers, third-party marketing trackers, or newsletter signup systems.
Third-Party Services
Desk Sticky Notes uses Apple for App Store distribution and payment processing. Apple handles App Store purchases, downloads, billing, and related App Store account activity.
The Desk Sticky Notes website uses Cloudflare for website hosting and may use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic website traffic and performance information. These services do not give access to note content stored locally on your device.
Support Email
If you contact support by email, I receive your email address and any information you choose to include in the message. I use that information to read, respond to, and manage your support request.
Do not send private note contents, passwords, financial information, regulated data, or other sensitive information unless you choose to do so.
Children's Privacy
Desk Sticky Notes is a general productivity app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not include accounts, app analytics, ads, tracking, or cloud sync.
Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal information under applicable privacy laws.
Because Desk Sticky Notes does not maintain user accounts or store note content on remote servers, requests related to note access, correction, export, or deletion may be limited to data stored locally on your device.
Changes to This Policy
Desk Sticky Notes may receive future updates. If a future version changes how data is handled, such as by adding optional sync, accounts, app analytics, crash reporting, or other network-connected services, this privacy policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated to describe those changes.
